Double Tax Agreement signed by Malta and Hong Kong

Malta and Hong Kong have signed a double taxation avoidance agreement setting out the allocation of taxing rights and the manner for the granting of relief from double taxation on different types of income.  The agreement also incorporates the latest Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development standards on exchange of information.

The double taxation agreement will come into force once the ratification process is concluded.

The conclusion of this agreement is being seen as a step in the right direction for the business communities and investors of both Malta and Hong Kong.
